Would an advertisement magazine be allowed to store my credit card details on file from one purchase?
I hear that Only if you give your permission for this to be done, otherwise, the details would be deleted from the database
really? what can I do, I paid via egg credit card for this advertisement in a magazine called southern views. I got no business from it and they charged me again.
I contacted them and they would not reimburse my money.
I contacted my credit card and they reimbursed me and then charged me for it again saying they got more details from the party in question.
thing is they sent me a message online and I did not see this until recently - they did not send me a letter and now they are saying it is too late to do anything.
what are my options?

Check the small print. Is it possible that you unwittingly agreed to subsequent ads after the first one?Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Its the sort of service that most likely will result in renewal of the service and therefore they have probably put your details in their system to make it "easier" to sort out the renewal.
Its probably in their T&Cs somewhere that they will keep your details.
The fact you didn't seem to want the advert renewed is the issue in point. You should contact them saying you did not give them permission to re run the advert (I'm assuming you didn't) and therefore you require a refund or will contact your card provider and dispute the charge.0 -
yes I asked them for a refund and they wouldnt give it.
I contacted my credit card and they ended up re-imbursing me BUT then they sent me an online message that they are taking the money back that they re-reimbursed me and I have 7 days to get back to them otherwise they assume I have accepted it.
And that was sent in on online message which I did not see until weeks later. They should have sent a letter.
Anyways I sent them a message back asking for re-reimbursement under section 75 of the consumer credit act 19740
