We are going to be in Suffolk that weekend. Have you been before kazwookie and Is it worth going to? You can't seem to buy tickets in advance so is it likely to be a mad scrum?

No not been before, but for £2 and a 50 miles drive I am willing to take a risk, it is to me a day out if nothing else!:D but I am planning to get there early so if there is a 'scrum' I'll be at the front.:rotfl:

Also The national herb centre has a tour day in Aug, near Banbury, so I might go to that as well. (google it)

And before anyone moans, I don't work for either of these places, I am just a basic gardener who loves other gardens / seeds /trees etc.

no theres no scrum, but not sure its worth a really long drive, although there are usually quite a few coach parties there, so perhaps different people expect different things of an open day

trial ground is usually quite busy, but with the hot weather we have had of late it might be a bit scorched and not as good as other years, but if you like a sea of colour then it should impress

if you are in buying mode, they usually have a few stands with the latest must have gadget, and there are obviously seeds for sale (odd free packet thrown in). the talks are also good, question and answer sessions being the most entertaining

but dont expect it to be a long day out - i think you could kill 2-3hrs at the most. oh and take a sunhat and lots of cream, there is no shade anywhere to escape the heat
