NPower - 30 days grace rule?

Hi Sim,
Yes, relax tonight, confident that there is tomorrow to get even further ahead by speaking to the CCCS.
Must be so frustrating with this NPower debt! I really hope CCCS will be able to sort it out easily for you and you can post some good news on here tomorrow!
I do wonder if anyone else has ever had this problem though, with DROs and arrears on utilities? You cannot be the first person to have encountered such an issue! Anyway... Relax, have a good rest

Thanks climb. Hope your evening is going well

It certainly is frustrating..
The annoying thing is, that initially the NPower guy thought the 'Safe Department' (that's what they're called!) at Npower, would agree to 'freeze' the arrears, and for me to just pay £38 per month for the current usage.
However, when he came back, apparently the lowest they could go was £44 per month, including the £6.00 per month, towards the arrears :-/
In hindsight, I wish I'd haggled a bit more, to try and get them to stick with their original estimate - the £38 per month -
I know it's only £6 less per month, but it's more the fact, that it would buy me some time, while I sort the DRO.. and more importantly, as I'd only be paying the current Electric usage, and not the arrears, it would go down ok with the OR.
So, my plan is -
Tomorrow, first thing, at 8.30am (when they open), I'll call the CCCS DRO department, and -
1 / Ask them what I should do regarding NPower, re paying anything at all / paying the £11 (including arrears) when it's due? (It may be a case of just 'doing nothing', until my DRO goes through). Obviously, I don't want to 'show preference' to a creditor, and I do want to stay on the right side of the Insolvency Service!
My first NPower payment isn't due until 9th August, and so hopefully the DRO will be processed before any further, scary action from NPower / DCA's threatening to cut me off.
That way, the whole £646.00 will just be included in the DRO, and written off. Then, I can start over, and keep on top of my current bills.
2 / Ask CCCS, about Severn Trent Water too, as the Water company were particularly unhelpful..
As an anxious, obsessive, former boozer, prone to depression, it's tiring!
I will tackle this though, and will try not to let 'em get me down.
Thanks,

I dont want to shatter anything, but you do know once your DRO is approved you will be forced to have a pre-payment meter for your power. I believe its their policy. Whats the persons name your dealing with?0

Thanks for the info.
I'll cross that bridge, when I come to it!
Regarding them 'forcing' me to have a prepayment meter, I'm not sure about that, as the meter is, nine times out of ten, inaccessible.
I'll check this out with CCCS, in the morning.
Why on earth, do you want to know the "persons name" that I'm "dealing with"?

Hi Sim!
Hope you had a good day and got somewhere with the phone calls you intended to make?
