Income support

I cant seem to find an answer for this anywhere. Basically my partner is suppose to be on IS as she is pregnant. But as i work i doubt it she would be entitled to any amount, But should she still apply? Even though she wouldnt get anything.

She will not be eligible for IS because she has a partner and is not a single mum.

Does she not qualify for maternity pay?

If she doesn't qualify for maternity pay, she may be entitled to ESA?

She was a student last year! She's now taking a year out of her studies because of the baby.

she may get IS for a few weeks before and after the birth. After that it will be jsa if she is seeking work. Nothing if she is going to be a stay at home mum

Dependent on your earnings she may qualify for income based ESA for a few weeks, but no throughout the maternity leave period.

October 2008. You can only get IS if you're a single parent or carer.
