Did anyone see it?
They basically said that the supermarkets are now chasing the 'Green£'. Because it's everyone who is now interested in being more green not just the minority groups.
Sainsbury's are to use biodegradable packaging on 500 different products.
Morrisons will be trialing biodegradable packaging.
Asda want to not be using landfill's in 4 years time and well we all know Tesco's are doing the 'bag' thing.
I guess as they say its a start.[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

I think this is all great news. I have been emailing all the supermarkets for ages saying that I disagree with all the packaging especially when it is on organic produce. Compostable packaging has to be best because lots of the waste sent for recycling actually ends up in landfill anyway or shipped about the world to be sorted. My worry is though how many people have compost heaps and if in time it will be collected in with the garden waste recycling. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

My mum took all her carrier bags to local sainsbury's for recycling . Was shoving them in overflowing container when approached by supermarket man who offered to put them 'out the back' for her. 'For recycling?' she asked. 'No, in the rubbish where I put all these ones' was the reply. No sarcasm, genuine answer. Hmm...green pound.0

Better still support your local market/shops and compost their brown bags0
