Worcester Bosh boiler quote

After some advice from this forum. I went to my local WB installer and I was quoted top range boiler WB 30CDI installed in airing cupboard for £2700 plus 5 yrs guarantee parts and labour and 5 yrs free annual service as there is a promotion going until August. This seems a fair price and I have homecare 400 with BG which I could cancel. I read somewhere that with WB, not all parts are covered, is this correct? Really there is no point staying with BG if I am having a new boiler or am I better off staying with them as well for homecare 400? Was quoted £3700 with BG low range WB .Thanks

It seems a reasonable price if the installation is good. You could always restart the BG contract after the warranty expires.0

How do I know whether the installation will be good? I got the local firm from the Worcester Bosh website find an installer. I have checked the company on gas safe register and it is there. Is there anything else I should do. He is coming to do a survey and give me a proper quote. He also told me to giet at least three quotes before I decide. Thanks0

Sounds very much like me in his attitude.
From what you have posted it seems a reasonable price and he must be WB approved to offer the 5 year warranty.
Also like me, he may be a bit more expensive than others, but then has the confidence in his installations to tell you to get other quotes as well!0 -
I looked on the energysmart website. The WB 30CDI is £792.42 plus a flue and clock, call it 130 and thats plenty. That leaves £1770 in other matterials and labour. I think £400 plus vat a day is a standard labour charge. Its hard to see if its a good quote without looking at what is being done. Is the boiler being moved? Do you already have a combi or is the engineer converting from a conventional heating system (one with tanks in the loft). For that kind of cash I'd want a Vertical flue, re-location and convertion plus 5 warranty and 5 year servicing. How long did he say it would take?
Work out the days and allow £400 as day for him. The parts he gets are available for pricing online at energysmart.org
Hope this helps0
