Thanks again guys for the help. If by the OP you mean me (I don't have a clue what the acronmys mean), I definitely wasn't lying with my desciption. I can appreciate the costs involved behind the scenes in a job like this, but I did honestly think he was taking a quick look at tell me the price involved. I turns out that flicking those two switches hasn't sorted out my problem now anyway. I heard the rumble throughout my apartment a couple of times again last night and this morning. Your replies, my flatmates' view and this fact have put my mind to ease. Needless to say that I know mow to ALWAYS ask for minimum charges, etc, for any work done before they ever pop over in the future. I think I'll also be looking for a new homecare arrangement, that includes an annual service just in case to hopefully stop issues like tis from ever occuring again.0
