Billing problem with big bill

  • Hi, all the above are right, however you can challenge your supplier and ask for more details of the opening read, what date was it? Was ther a gap before you took ownership etc etc.
All I would say is if you think £150 is expensive for 6 months with a load of builders in then wait until you get next winters bill. So did the buiders not have any heat on? Did they have blowers to dry things out? How did they dry the plaster? I really think I would pay it and remember next time take a reading, but still worth having a chat with your supplier.
Good luck and hope this helps

The builders rechargeable tools will probably have been charge on your electricity, with lights(during winter), kettles, cement mixer for 6 months £150 is reasonable and I would have thought that the initial reading was probably correct.

:rotfl: I'd have to agree with the above. Personally in just trusting some unknown builder like this I also think you're lucky that charging their tools, drinks, radios & cement mixer to just £150 was all they were doing.

    Hi corine39

I think some of the advice you have been given above makes a lot of sense regarding the causes for the bill you have received, especially in relation to the billing of standing charges.

Whilst £150.00 over a such a period is not that high a figure, on average, I can understand that you would at least like some clarity on how that figure was reached.

If you would like to contact me then please feel free to PM me your details, or contact us at the e-mail address in our profile, and I'll be happy to double check the meter readings on your account and at least confirm that there have been no errors in the billing. At least then you will have some peace of mind and a note of the usage during that time for your records.

    Thanks
