Benefits & Pregancy - Help required

Hi all,
Hoping someone out there can help me! I would also like to point out that my Fiance and I have never claimed any sort of benefits and have worked full time paying all our taxes etc.
Basically I am 9/10 weeks pregnant - I have been signed off work due to pregnancy complications my doctor doesnt think that I will be back at work for a substantial period of time until they sort out these problems! I am glad that the doctors are treating this seriousley as at one point I thought that I was being over reactive. My employers have not been very supportive and I am worried that even if I do go back to work they will find something to either discipline me or get rid of me.
My question is my OH earns around £1100 a month and without my full time wage which is (£900 pcm) we are really going to struggle espcially with a new baby on the way. What really is my options? I have been advised by my doctor not to go back to work but I need to work out my money.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? or really any advice at all.
I am not looking for handouts - I fully intend to go back to work at a different place once the baby is old enough. I have just not been in this situation before.
Thanks in advance

If you are signed off surely you get sick pay? And surely your employers can't just sack you because you are pregnant and off sick? They would have to have a good reason to do so.0

Hi thanks for the reply. I think that I am getting paid sick pay bt dont get paid for another 2 weeks so wont know for sure until then. I dont even think that sick pay would be half of what I usually earn although Im not 100% sure on that.
I know that legally my employer cannot sack me for being pregnant but I know that they will "find" something else. This has been done previousley.[/COLOR] Starting the new year in a good way cooking baby sharkeybabe no2:j:j0
