SKY Router with New provider

I have a sagem fast 2540 wi-fi router supplied by sky that I would like to use with a new internet service provider. Does anyody have working step by step instructions as to how I do this as I beleive sky lock down their routers??

    you should be able to use any router adsl llu (local loop unbundling)etc etc on any adsl llu network but your bb supplier will never support it as it is not theirs once thats understood look at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/tutorials/how_to_get_your_sky_sagem_f_st2504_router_statistics.html

    for username passwords etc that get you in.

    thanks but when i try to use the sagem router the internet light on the router stays amber and although the pc thinks im connected - i cannot browse anypages on the web.

    having looked at various forums it appears to be something to do with the router needing to be 'reflashed'?????

    Might need reflashed to a generic firmware, yep. But the chances are sky and your new ISP use different settings as well, so you'll need to get the right settings into the router once you reflash it.

    anybody have any idea where I can get the relevant flashfile and settings - im a novice at this?

    yes my parents have a router from their provider but it isnt wireless. as I am living with them for a while and I have a spare wifi enabled router it makes sense.

    ps - the sagem website wasnt of much use
