tiles to heavy for walls.

Hi Everyone.
I was wondering if anyone coul;d advise me or let me know where i stand here?

We bought some wall tiles from a tile shop for our walls and since then i have fouind out that they will be to heavy for the walls that they will be getting tiled onto and will be no good for that kind of wall.

We never received any advice from the shop we bought them from and we were not informed that if these tiles were going onto skimmed batton walls or skimmed walls that they would be to heavy, as far as i was aware a tile was a tile(how wrong i was).

I understand that the shop would not know be personally and where or what situation i would be using these tiles on but surly i would have thought that they would just say that these cannot be put onto just a stuudded skimmed wall etc?

Where do i stand regarding this can i get the tile company to have them back and exchange them etc or am i stuck with them?

We bought them a while ago but they were only delivered about 10 days ago.
Thanks everyone
Nic

Did you ask for advice ? The tile supplier is legally under no obligation to take them back if you ordered the wrong item unless you asked the specific questions about suitability. They may be willing to exchange them but you may have to pay transport costs.

If you specifically asked 'can I put these on a stud wall' and they told you yes, then you've got a complaint. Otherwise, no. Shops don't have to quiz everyone on what they intend to do with the products. If you don't know what you are doing, ask for help.

If i were a sales assistant, i'm pretty sure i'd be scared of some of the answers!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
