Not quite in keeping with the question, but one thing that always made me laugh .... I was delivering a PC back to a large customer a few years back - i usually just left it on reception but they had recently been taken over by a european company and now I had to sit through a two hour health and safety film on climbing ladders. Needless to say we charged them to deliver their PC!!0

LOL. I thought they were quite a good deterrent myself. Just reminded you of your speed. The one I used to go past every day was handy, as it was yards before a speed camera and a school, so win win...but yup, all the ones I knew have certainly dissapeared.
Still got them near me.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

From knowing a few insiders I can tell you that they would be more interested in your knowledge and views on equality and diversity than whether you could do the job.0 -

Agree on the stupid dept mags that get posted to each office throughout the country, about 1 per 3 employees... straight to bin
Equality & diversity training, often 100hrs lost per office at each 'update', just to tick boxes- and kill motivation....
Regional team building meets/ conferences. Why pay each employee milage to trek to some leisure centre 30 odd miles away to drink coffee and 'engage' in some role playing for the benefit of staff engagement and customer service exellence. Joy
If we must endure this b0ll0x then send the HR/ development teams to us, so we can get it over as quickly as possible and hopfully try and get a couple hours work done too... I know, I'm being a bit too radical now...We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

on my way to work there is a lolly pop person who is paid to help children cross the road. No harm there I here you say. However the lolly pop lady is situated at a pelican crossing so is not needed at all.0

How would the Pelicans cross without her?0

My sister works for Tubelines. In January they were all given laptops which cost about £1,000 each. Then with April 5th looming they found they had a budget underspend and bought 20 new laptops and sold the old ones to the staff for £50 each. The man without a signature.0
