Cost of fitting porcelain vs ceramic tiles?

Hi all

I've recently had a quote for refitting my bathroom, which includes some tiling.

A footnote on the quote says that the tiling costs assume ceramic tiles will be used, and the labour charge will be more if porcelain tiles are fitted.

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much more per square metre I might expect it to be for fitting porcelain tiles? I want high gloss tiles for both wall and floors, and all the ceramic ones i've seen seem to be satin at most, rather than high gloss.

Cheers!

    Hiya
I had tavertine tiles fitted for my walls and high gloss porcelain tiles for my floor. Originally it was tavertine for both (now these are the most expensive as they needed work after they are laid) and my tiler just charged the same price. Guess it takes same amount of time to fit one tile, I think if there are lots of small ones, or fiddly areas this might take longer? I am no tiler though...
    Hope this helps!

Are your high gloss porcelain floor tiles in a bathroom area? If so, are they ridiculously slippy? I love the look of them but am a bit scared that I am going to break my neck everytime I get out the shower!

    Hi

Yes they are in the bathroom, I got them from B and Q and I did ask the bathroom expert, he said they are suitable for the bathroom, just use a bathmat for getting out of bath/shower initially I guess.
