I was chekcing manuals for washer, dryer and DW to see energy consumptiona dn wondered if anyone can check my figures please

My electricity is 14.55p per unit. ( Northern ireland )

Washer

KWH 0.55, time 66mins ( 40 quick wash ) I make it 9p a wash

Dryer

KWH 2.6, time 67mine ( normal dry after 1200 spin ) my dryer turns off when dry so this time is approx, usually less as not full laod. I make this 42p a load

Dishwasher

KWH 1.2 , time 84 mins I make this 25p a load

I have just checked back electricty useage for last few months and goes like this

June 96
May 77
April 96
March 108
February 103
january 120
December 127
November 117

As you can see never the same, in May we were on holiday for 2 weeks so only son in house, obviously he was not useing the products above while we were away lol

A big problem we have and I know it is hot water. We have oil heating and during the day if I need to wash worktops in kitchen or wash floor I boil kettles of water:eek: Trying now to decide if I should put on immersion for a while to get hot water or turn heating on for an hour. Our heating does not let us heat water only.

Thanks

Your figures are correct EXCEPT you haven't taken account of thermostats - elements aren't on full blast for the whole cycle.

Actually that makes more sense - figures are a bit of a hybrid. If the quotes are per cycle then you do not need to do the additional time adjustment. EG, if the washer is 0.55 kWh per cycle then you just need 0.55 x 14.55p to get 8p, you do not have to multiply that by the time in hours (66/60) to get 8.8p.

    ok thanks so if

DW is 1.2kwh consumption then it is costing 17.46p
WM is 0.55kwh consumption so 8p
TD is 2.6kwh consumption so 37.83p

    thanks a lot :T
