Well the way to avoid any problems is to ask the SA to stop when your bill totals £40 and pay in 2 transactions! Bit of a pain perhaps but it might prevent any awkwardness.

I tried to use one in my local store on Monday & it was also refused. I was told that Sainsburys are their only competitors & they would not accept any vouchers from other supermarkets. I emailed customer services who phoned me to say that they WILL accept these vouchers & if i have any further problems to tell store to check their 'work plan'. Head office also said they would phone branch to confirm acceptance of these vouchers. In the meantime I lost out on £5 off shopping this week! Will try again next week- will not be fobbed off again!

Would it be worth e-mailing / phoning customer services again telling them you would appreciate their help with the matter ? say you will post the relevant voucher and your till receipt showing the qualifying spend and hope that they would send you a gift card for the amount since the branch concerned is at fault.
Worth a nice e-mail or phone- you never know!!
    Good luck

    I've been Money Tipped!
I rang head office and they confirmed that Tescos will take the Morrisons £5 and the local co-op £6 ones (told me if I had any problem with the SA,I should go to the customer service desk and quote that I had spoken to Dan at Head office-this may help anyone if they get them refused).

I gave the SA both my Morrisons one and three Co-op ones and a couple of £1 ones and just asked her to take whatever she could. She took them all and so I got £25 off my shop!!!!

Don't you know Tesco accept other stores vouchers?

They currently accept vouchers from these stores:

    Asda
    Morrisons
    Sainsburys
    Co-op
    Marks & Spencer
    Waitrose
    Boots
    Aldi
Thanks for your post letting people know that Tesco accept vouchers from some other stores. I for one didn't know that and now I have already used 2 out of the Morrisons vouchers at my local Tesco ( saving £5 each time which is very satisfying!) There doesn't seem to be a problem with multiple use of the vouchers. I bought several papers each day in the hope I could use them myself or pass them onto other people. I was able to scan the coupons on self service so no problem at all. Maybe it depends on the store though as other people have said.

I went there today and asked at customer service desk, they seemed a bit baffled at first! I asked if I can use my Sainsbury's money off coupon (spend £30 get £6 off) or my Sun voucher. They came back after a few minutes and told me I can use my Sainsbury's voucher.
When I got to the checkout the cashier said she was told to accept Sun vouchers and had to double check on the Sainsburys one (obviously didn't trust me!) She accepted it in the end so I got £6 off.

When I got my receipt it came with a £6 off voucher when I spent £40 at my next shop. I love it!

(the reasons I didn't go to Morrisons is because when I did my shop last week, the cucumber was full of water inside, not edible, the lean mince beef turned brown well before the use by date, the bananas were horrible and tomatoes went soft after 2 days in the fridge not impressed!)
I love a bargain and saving money! I don't have any debts and mortgage repaid in 2020

I forgot to get my coupon out of my purse yesterday when I paid for my shopping, so went to customer service and they refunded my £5!

i work at tesco and they only accept vouchers from the main competitor supermarkets, asda , morrisons, sainsburys and only conditional spend coupons e.g £5 off when you spend £40
