Returning to uni this year - Advice please

Hi all,
I started a degree back in 2001/2 and didn't complete the first year. I took a degree in a subject I was unsure of and struggled to gain the required grades or enthusiasm to continue. i agreed with the university to transfer to a new degree course the following year, taking a subject I had a real interest in, as this would have meant I would put in the effort ot get the required grades.
To cut a long story short, i got a job in the interim on very good wages and couldn't justify giving it up to return to education.
I am now looking to start again at uni this year and wondered if anybody knew how the first year i did in 2001/2 will affect my student financial support now.
I am 29, so an independent learner and have been paying back my previous loan ever since. Unfortuneately the well paid job didn't last forever as myself and my partner moved back to my home town, but i have been over the payment threshold ever since and have always made payments etc.
Any advice is always appreciated.

You did 1st year in 2001/2 but failed and started again with a different course in 2002/3, but I assume you didn't attend at all?0

If you never started the new course in 2002 you will still get funding for the whole of a new degree; you get funding for the length of your degree course plus one year.0
