  • Thanks Jorgan I had a feeling this loophole had been closed now.
  • Hi there,

I haven't heard of way to get around or lower the cost of your stamp duty for a normal residential purchase. I would love to know how if somebody else does. But the company I work for have managed to mitigate their stamp duty and claim to have save thousands.

Apparently there is a scheme if the purchase price is over 500k, typical! that you can reduce your stamp duty.

They used a company called stamp duty solutions to do this, sorry don't know their website address but im sure you should be able to find them in google or something.

Surely the decent, British, thing to do is to pay your taxes with honour, good humour and a clear conscience and not scrabble around for some dodgy fiddle:

If you did go for the dodgy fiddle you know what sort of person you'd be eh??

    Yup, you know,...

    Cheers!

    Hi John,

We are currently considering moving premise's and this sounds fantastic if still a bit unbelievable. I assume the website your company used is stampdutysolutions.co.uk. Either way I think I will look into this further.

Curious but not convinced! I will re-post should I become so...

  • Well, done some snooping around before I made the visit and it turns out that there is such a scheme.

I've applied and spoken to them and now I understand how it all works so I will wait and see what happens from here in out.

I have to admit I am the sceptically type but so far so good I guess.

If i was to list things like a £7000 Aga would this then reduce my liability for Stam Duty? If so how do i list it with the vendor? Thanks
    Phil
  • I've just been contacted by a legal company that claim they can get around stamp duty and have had no comebacks in over 1,000 cases. They're linked to the company that did my HIP (an online one) and whilst I remin skeptical I would be interested to know whether anyone else has heard of or experienced this legal loophole?

    Thanks,
    Luke
