Hey all
I am looking for a printer for my father, and although I am ok with PC's etc, I know nothing about printers, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on a good printer. Basically they want it for printing out photos, and my mum uses it for making cards etc, so she wants a decent quality one.
I asked how much, and he just said the best one I can get for as little money...so does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Its not the price of the printer you have to worry about its the price of the ink cartridges - I always buy my printers that have all the colours as seperate cartridges as I can then buy a refill kit from the supermarket and fill them myself costing £4.99.
something like this

thank you for that, do you use this one yourself?0

Printers are a money pit. Drop your colour printers at the local supermarket when you are shopping. You only need a black and white printer, a laser. Buy cheap cards. That's it sorry.0

ermmmm she LIKES making cards, and altough I understand where you are coming from, they would like a printer, which is why I started this thread...0

Most printers will print high quality photos I personally like Canon (been using them since the BJ-10 came out) I'd go for a multi-function (has a scanner built in). Kodak are advertising that they have the cheapest cartridges (£19 for a set)0

If your dad can afford a laser then this one's decent for £126

Otherwise this Epson inkjet has Wi-Fi and the replacement cartridges are cheap. £64.70

I have a Canon Pixma MP620 which I find a very good all-rounder. It has five ink carts which can be changed singly and I get the carts (compatibles) from 'Inkredible' for around a couple of quid each (keep an eye out for their special deals!) and they do work! You should be able to get the printer for around the £80 mark.0
