If I Never Want to Borrow Money, Should I Care About My Credit Rating?

If you use your credit card to buy your shopping every month and pay if off on time you can have your cash in a high interest account and thus be better off. Also you get teh benefits that card offers - eg I get the family holiday on our tesco points which you get more of if you use a Tesco credit card.0

You might not want a credit card or to borrow money but even if you wanted to change to a new current account with full debit card you would still be credit checked for this (unless it was a basic bank account).
Yeah, its not just for lending purposes...also, say you needed a nw cell phone contract or wanted to get a new broadband or TV package - you could do with at least some activity of some sort.
But tbh most of what i would say has already been said, above. One thing i would add though is while your score doesnt matter too much, a credit report can often be used not just to see how credit worthy you are but as a good security measure. You can make sure nbody is taking out services in your name, they dont have you linked in with anyone else's debt, generally keep an eye on who your financial associates are and what not (i mean you may have lived a squeaky clean life but someone else may be taking advantage...)
Just something to consider i would say.0 -
