Wide angle digital camera

Hi

I'm a complete amateur with photos and can just about manage to download basic stuff off our current digital camera and phones. My OH is now working for himslef and I need to keep a photo record of what he's doing for marketing his services in the future.

We need a wide angle camera to capture the houses he's renovating and reasonably sharp images for leaflets and postcards.

Can anyone recommend a good budget camera and would a camera like this take normal photos as well as wide angle?

Thanks

I have a normal nokia digital camera which is a few years old. It has the panorama option and allows you to take pictures which can be added together with the cd given, to produce a panorama picture. On the camera itself, it will produce the 'borders' of the last picture so you can by eye see where the next photo needs to be taken. (I hope it's clear!)

Before I moved into the world of SLRs, I used a FujiFilm J150w (the w stands for wide). It consistently produced brilliant wide angle shots, and where others would have to stand further back to get a certain shot, I could stand a lot closer to the subject, if you know what I mean.

Here's one on eBay for £57 incl. postage. Pretty reasonable as they were about £120 a year ago.

As I said, I've moved into the world of SLRs now, but this camera was a nice, easy to use model which helped me get some brilliant shots.

  • How about just using any normal digicam, then stitch photos together to create a panorama?

You can get the panorama software free.. here's an example : http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/ICE/
