Sick pay/ days off (NHS)

I was advised to take 3 days off sick by my doctor last week. This has fallen over the weekend. I was rota'd to have a day off tomorrow.
Do I lose my day off?
Because I haven't physically worked the weekend?
If I was being paid as off sick when rota'd to work on Saturday and Sunday shouldn't I still get my day off?
I am confused!

You should go back to work for your next planned shift - which will be after your day off.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

Go back on next shift you were due to work, but ring them to say when you are fit for duty from - so I would ring today (as you say you were due to work I'm assuming your role is one where someone will be there) and say you are shift for duty from tomorrow - they write on the off duty you come in as planned then0

If it is a days holiday then it is likely you can claim this back, if it was just a day of then as is said go back on your next working day.
To put it into context say you worked one day a week and your Dr told you to have three days of, would you really not expect to go back to work for three weeks? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Unfortunately there is noone to call at the weekend to sort this out, as it is an on call only service and not my manager working. But I would be fit enough to go to work tomorrow. My husband thinks I should go back to work as my day off is cancelled out by being off sick. He thinks that as the day off was in lieu of working the weekend (which I have been off sick for) then I am no longer entitled to it. (I work full time).0 -

It is not holiday. As I work full time, when I work a weekend I get a day off in the week. My doctor wanted me to take several consecutive days off to get over the worst. If I had been off sick during the week and not been rota'd to work the weekend, I wouldn't have been expected to go to work on a Saturday if I was feeling better. So surely I am still entitled to my day off?0 -
Then I would ring first thing in the morning (actually I would likely ring and speak to the person who was working and get them to leave a not for the manager and then ring myself in the morning)
Most people who work varying shift patterns find sometimes their first 'fit' day falls on a day off. If he worked Monday to Friday and was fit on the Saturday (his job place was open but he never worked it) would he expect to go back to work on the Saturday and work for the next 7 days straight because he was off sick two days in the week? I suspect not, he'd automatically go back on the Monday and not think twice about it.
You don't get a day off in the week BECAUSE you work the weekend in the NHS, you are contracted to do 37.5 hours a week at a time to meet the service needs, which may or may not fall on the weekend0 -

If it is a day of in Lieu then I would be trying to claim it backThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

If I don't go to work tomorrow because it is my scheduled day off after my weekend, surely I don't need to claim it? I just need to know whether I would be wrong by not going to work tomorrow!0 -

It is confusing! My doctor didn't give me a certificate. So my next rota'd day would be tuesday. I guess that is when I will go back :-)0
