Different Suppliers have different Meter Operators, and so making a meter change necessary.
In this case, I think it is 'necessary' as in 'would be nice to' rather than as in 'need to'

  • Hi,
Hmm. I would think that they would have to have a good reason to change a meter

I would reckon they can change meter whenever, if you refuse entry, they will think, ah ha, what's this gadgie up to, is he screwing the meter, has he a hot house growing cannabis, just let them change it, you don't own it, if it comes to a warrant, then you have the expenses to pay, plus maybe a bust door/lock, to replace.

Well a subcontractor representing OnStream came to replace the old meter (just 12 months old) with an identical model. He admitted himself that it was crazy.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: People were saying the supplier could get a court warrant for this. I think you should be compensated for having your time wasted.

Swipe, can I ask roughly how big your 'new' gas meter is?
OnStream are coming to change mine next week and I'm actually happy about it; It's huge, prehistoric and in the stupidest place in my dining room.....so anything smaller will be a result! :D

I would not be having time off for this. I would arrange to suit myself and if they didnt like it, tough.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

We had a meter like this fitted by Onstream about 18 months ago and everything went well at the changeover.

Remember Norma to take the closing reading on the old meter and the opening reading on the new meter and see that these readings are used on your next bill. Remember also that your new meter will be a metric meter whereas the old meter is probably an imperial one and you will need to account for this when checking the kWh of energy used that is charged for on your next bill.
