Payment Refused - but I haven't got money back

hi

I am sorry if this has been covered before but ...

Purchased something on ebay. Sent payment via paypal (using my cc).
Noticed payment was unclaimed, so waited for a few days.
Seller then came back to say that there was a problem and that she couldn't get the payment (I realise that it is because she needed to upgrade her account), and I agreed for her to refuse the payment, and it was sent back to me.
Now according to the ebay listing, it gives the option of pay now (again), but on paypal it shows the payment has having gone from my cc to paypal, paypal to seller, seller to paypal and finally from paypal back to my cc. This last part is dated noon 01.09.2006

However, when I check my cc situation on line, it doesn't show the money has having come back (nor as a pending transaction either).

Any suggestions on what I should do ?

What do you suggest I do.

Check with your CC company - phone them up is the best method- if its like my credit card it takes a couple of days to appear online!

It does take a while for the payment to get back to your card.

One word of advice though, if she doesn't take paypal as advertised in her auction then do not under any circumstances pay by any other method. Stick to your guns and refuse to pay unless she accepts that as she advertises.

If necessary do a non performing seller complaint on her if it gets nasty:

    Hi
thanks for your advise, but I think the seller is okay. The item being purchased is for collection, so we will just pay cash then (if the cc co ever credits the money to our account).
  • I thought that when a card payment gets refused the money is just added to your PayPal balance. I didn't think it gets put back on your card.

If it's a collection only item then paying by cash is the best way.
