Valuations Board

I'm just asking to see whether anyone thinks this would be a good idea -
Following the success on one of my topics yesterday where I asked the value of an item, I was wondering whether, a topic dedicated entirely to valuations would interest anyone, like, not professional of course, but searching for finished auction prices etc .
I couldn't find anything on the item I posted yesterday, and then someone posted a finished auction value (not ebay) so I'm wondering whether it would come in handy for anyone.
I've probably made next to no sense, haha, and what do you think about my idea?

I'd be interested as I enjoy ferreting things out like that.

Only problem I could see is it taking over our lives as we all compete to be the first to identify a valuable piece from just a small chard of pottery.

I think it's a brilliant idea, not just for valuations but for identification as well. I often buy things that are obviously old and possibly rare or valuable, but if you don't have any idea of a maker or anything it's difficult to know how to start searching. A thread like the one you are suggesting might bring together people with different specialisms - for example I know quite a lot about Hornsea pottery but next to nothing about Delft, so I'd be very happy to offer my help on Hornsea in the hope that there would also be a Delft expert out there.

It would be lovely to have somewhere where people could just post a pic and wait for someone to come up with an id and likely value.
Oh dear, here we go again.

Great idea, I would certainly be interested, plus I'm sure many of us may have price guides, eg Millers, too. Loved the chimps, Jorsha, thanx for showing us : )

I'd be interested too; I collect and deal in antique 18th / 19th century paintings.

Hello, may I be the first to ask?
I found a couple of old music magazines - I managed to find one on ebay (bin £2.99) but cannot find the other one on ebay or google. It's called MUSIC FOR ALL - A MAGAZINE FOR EVERY HOME published by George Newnes Ltd. It says No1 Vol 1. There's no date on it but I assume 1920s.

I have a photo but don't know how to insert it (I'm not good at that type of thing, lol)

    Thanks in advance

Hi Jenny, So can I ask a quick question. I have a couple of the 'Fauna' baby deer with log, pattern number 24, I've just bought another one it's got the number 24 on it and quite obviously the same design but it's backstamp is 'Eastgate Pottery' Withernsea England. can you tell me what the connection is between Withernsea and Hornsey is ? Thanks.
