  • I think I want to cry.
My lovely new mini walk-in frame pegged down and cover weighted down round the bottom is lying on its back this morning.
OK I knew it was windy last night, but just windy not gales!
Fortunately I didn't have much in it, but right now I think I will take the cover off and just start again next spring:(

These are reduced to £54.99 + free delivery now. The winds here are so hard I couldn't get my mini-walk in stable, so might have to try one of thees. I really need something for frost protection this winter.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

I know what you mean! I have one of these on my "not just yet" shopping list and and am trying to really keep my spending down at the moment, but that looks like a really good buy! :o

I started to read this thread because after a few discussions and OH having a tantrum, I finally got it into his head that we cannot afford the greenhouse he wants (£600 )

I did a quick google search and found this little greenhouse and we bought it about 20 minutes ago. He was going to buy one of the plastic "blowaways" until I talked him into this one. Even if it only lasts until we can afford the big greenhouse we'll be happy bunnies! I've seen one similar for £140 so for £55, I'm over the moon.

Will never have a blowaway again, they're useless!!
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

I have to say this one I have has proved itself well in the weather yesterday of HUGE high winds. It's still standing and is doing a cracker of a job!

Now that looks good! But the construction looks too complicated for me,
The PVC clear sheeting (on a roll) excludes all drafts when seam-sealed with transtape (supplied)

    Eh?

LOL it was a bit long worded, especially when you start to read the instructions, but it's alright takes about three hours to put up, but basically it's the clear plastic stuff people put on tables to protect tablecloths which you then stick to the frame with thick really sticky tape. The good thing about it for me is if anything happens, I can patch it up pretty easily with the said tablecloth protector stuff as I have a whole reel of the tape left from making it. You then hide the tails of this plastic under either soil or slabs (or what I have done, loads of heavy plant pots which means I can grow more stuff around it too.
