How does an "Energy Saving Plug" work?
It is really a misnomer, it is just a remote switch off plug, saves you bending down to switch off at socket, just click on a remote & of goes the power to the appliance /TV etc, although I assume it must sort of be on "standby" to receive the switch back on signal
I guess it would save some energy as TV etc is not on standby, but you could save just as much, or more, by just turning TV offEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Thank you I have sent for mine, there are times when I have trouble with my back so this will come in very handy at those times.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
This appears to be the same device given away earlier by British Gas to its customers who were aged and/or on benefits. If so, its advantage is that it responds to the TV remote control and has a (fibre optic?) cable so that the signal can be received from in front of the set even though the socket itself is out of sight.
If one simply wants remotely controlled switches, I have just seen them on sale instore at ASDA for £5 (reduced from £15) for 3 plugs and one transmitter. These do not have the advantages mentioned above.0 -
:rotfl:thanks for this, I just ordered one. I'm only 45 but I lied and said I was over 70.:rotfl:0
