advice needed on beanstalk plant please.

i have a beanstalk which i grew from seed a few months ago,it seems to be growing very fast and the stalk is very thin.will im just after abit more advice if anyone can help.will it always grwo this fast?will the stalk get thicker over time?will it last all year or will it die off in the winter? thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply.:T

    I'm a bit confused as to what sort of 'beanstalk' you mean!!! Is it a runner bean , or a french bean or a magic bean? :D If its a runner bean it needs a pole to climb up and the stalk will get a little thicker but it won't support itself and it will die when the frosts of Winter come.
