bullguard v8.7

Options
my husband bought me a netbook for my birthday which came with a two month free trial of bullguard v8.7 which has now expired
I have norton on our other computers which is valid for 3 computers but is only on 2 so I could use it on the netbook as well , trouble is I don't have a disc drive with the netbook so a friend suggested that I download norton onto a usb stick and put it on the netbook using that - is it easy to do and do I have to remove bullguard first ????

    Remove bullguard first.

In theory copying the cd onto a usb and loading that should work...
Although do you really want to bog down your netbook with norton?

Free and good alternatives are: avira, avast, microsoft essential
    with Malwarebytes.

would norton be no good on my netbook then ??
is it easy to remove bullguard is it just a case of going to add / remove programmes ??
  • Take off bullguard then throw the norton cd in the bin(best place for it on maybe use as a coaster) & then put on avast or Microsoft Security Essentials on your webbook which would be less of a resource hog than either of the two you are using now. Also they are both free.

Yes but Close BullGuard first by right-clicking the BullGuard icon in your System Tray (bottom-right corner, near the clock) and choose Close

not sure how good microsoft essential is personally - but you may want to run malwarebytes along side it. Most of the people here do - but use avira or avast for the antivirus!
  • Its a web-book that sunrise27 has got if you start running all sorts in the background you will cripple it.Just stick with what you have put on don't get to paranoid.
