Font keeps changing on Word 2010

I keep changing the font on Word 2010 to Times New Roman but it keeps changing back to Calibri and to double line space.

How can I stop this happening?

Go to format on the tool bar at the top
select font, then select the font you want and press default in the lower left of this box...... mine is a much older version so I hope this will work for you

WHEN does it 'keep changing back'?

At the end of a sentence? End of a paragraph? When you insert a page break? Or, as I suspect;

When you create a new document?

If the last of these, I think you need to amend the document template that word is using to create new documents - or create your own template.
