Advice re downloading Jpeg format.

Hi I would appreciate some advice please. I normally have no problem downloading jpeg images. Once before, and it has started again today, all of my images inc jpeg can only be downloaded as an untitled bitmap? I haven't knowingly changed any settings etc, so has anyone any ideas as to what is causing this, and how i can change it back please?

Thanks
PS I have checked with my provider aol and they don't know why this is happeneing !!

That wouldn't really narrow it down much. :)

Good to see the forum's still doing lag + duplicate posts.

Usually a cookie problem, clean your temporary internet files and all should be back to normal :)

I have cleaned up my temp files and cookies. To download from any site ie a link. Click on link (jpeg with a title) open image - right click and save as - it only gives untitled save as bitmap.....No drop down to change it.
I have been having to change it with paint, but as an artist I download loads of images during a day, and this has doubled my workload.

    Hi Godiva500

You may want to look at folder options (via control panel if XP) and make sure that jpegs open with the required program or try system restore which nearly always works for me.

Also I have used AOL for years and have from time to time found things stop working for no apparent reason so run another browser such as firefox as well to aid diagnosis (see link) which you can run without having to even sign on to AOL.
