iTouch does`nt show up on iTunes

Any advice on this. I have just updated my iTunes with the new software version 9.2.0.61. Now, when I plug in my ITouch (it is not a new one), there is no sign of it in the left hand column where it usually appears.
Any advice appreciated as I now have also purchased music I can no longer synch....HELP!

I also have iTunes on my laptop (VISTA) and my iTouch shows up no problem, although I have not yet downloaded the new iTunes software on the laptop yet.
Any thoughts or experiences of this problem would be appreciated.

Start iTunes, plug in iPod. Suspect pooly USB connections ?

Nothing, turn on iPod..should kick in then.

Tried all the ports on the PC, they are all the same - iTouch does not show up on iTunes. As I said , it happened after I downloaded the new version of iTunes......not a clue!

Do the USB ports work with another device, memory stick etc?

have you tried resetting the ipodwhile its hooked up to the PC?
