Wierd Call Regarding A Credit Card I Dont Have

Options
Hi,

Dont no if anyone has had this or if it is anything to worry about etc
first off i do not own a credit card, and never have

just had a phone call at home and when i answered a very broken english sounding person said my surname, i again said hello, and they said again my surname, soi responded no, they didnt listen as the introduced them self as calling from "visa xeron" or "visa electron" about my credit card (which i dont have lol), so i responded "i dont own a credit card" to which they responded "we are checking that you are making your payments on time" at which point,as tea was done, i hung up. This person had extremely bad english, he spoke extremely slow, almost computer like, i tried to retrieve the number that the call came from, but it said "no number available" or something along them lines.

Just want to know if there is anything to worry about, as i dont hold a credit but am now a little worried that someone may have onein my name or something. Any advive would help pls.

Thanks for your time in reading this :)

Electron is not a credit card. Are you sure they didn't mean debit card?

Yes but what i am getting at is are you sure they were not checking transactions on your debit card, but just worded it wrong? They might have picked up a dodgy transaction and wanted to check it was legitimate?

true, i have just checked may bank account and all seems fine, just felt abit weird
  • If you are still concerned about this it might be worth a few minutes of your time to contact your card issuer. Use a phone number that you know to be genuine.
