Could you not 'un-committ' to some of it?

LOL you do set yourself huge tests - you are doing wonderfully well as one parent household and maybe you are forgetting to remind yourself that you are doing ok actually!

I can't back out - I've got a 2 hour run to do tomorrow morning, plus a paying client to see, which will take a couple of hours (and prep), plus ski racing to get to, and will have to pitch in with the paper rounds due to the early start of the skiing.....etc etc etc. So on top of that, I've got to get the house sorted, borrow beds from Mum's blah blah blah!

I could drop the run, but I am helping run chum out and I really don't want to let her down.

Ah well, if I get through it all unscathed I will be very pleased!

Babysteps. Don't look at it as a whole, as that is too overwhelming. You KNOW you will get it done.

Defo don't miss the run. It will clear your head and help you prioritise tasks - not to mention give you bags of energy to get it all done!

Try the Flylady mantra of "You Can Do Anything in 15 Minutes" (15 on and then a short break - you always end up doing longer anyway, but at least psychologically it's not so daunting)

You'll be amazed at how much you will get done without noticing - once it's in bitesize chunks. Go girl! :)

Good advice. I like the film "About a Boy" particularly the part where Hugh Grant character talks about breaking the day down into units of time and filling them. Admittedly, he does it to fill his lonely days but I am sure that it works in reverse! Good luck with it all this weekend but I am sure that you dont need luck. You have DS and DD who have helped immensely so far so I am sure that they will do their bit for you too.

Well, I have made a start - made a list of 20 min jobs to take me up to about 10pm tonight - and got stuck in straight from work, so I have emptied my drawers for them to use for storage and have moved furniture around in my room ready for a good hoover and dust, and then it is ready for the additional bed. It will just need bedding doing on Sunday morning then.

Am just eating a veggie curry, and having a coffee, and will then go and do my en-suite, cleaning it to within an inch of its life.

Have used the last dishwasher tab, the last of the bleach for the loo, the last of the fairy liquid and the last bit of washing powder and conditioner.....have just put a wash in using soda crystals alone, but anything else "cleaning" wise will now have to wait until Tesco delivers tomorrow afternoon!

It is so hot as well - everything seems to take twice as much effort!!

I think that is enough work for today, Hypno, it's not as if the Queen is coming to stay! Get an early night ready for tomorrow's busy schedule.

Wow, you've needed to take it right down to the wire, haven't you. And Norwich has been in the news all day as being one of the hottest parts of the country. Lots of hugs, Hypno. At least you've got a plan, where the short term stuff fits into the long term.

    Good luck!

It is hot indeed, and according to the weather forecast just now, it is set to get hotter tomorrow!

DS and DD are with their dad until tomorrow, so I can't draft them in for help at the mo.

Realistically, we will be doing an "all hands to the pump" effort after my client has left tomorrow, at about 2pm, so if I can do a little more tonight, and do my client prep for the morning, I fear that will have to do.

Nargle, it may not be the queen that is coming to stay, but they ARE paying for the privilege of being here, so it has to be halfway decent at least!! I'm not aiming for perfection, but I do need clean and tidy and without risk to life, limb, or future cash flow!
