Think I'd rather be sitting with the Sunday DIY mishaps than the Out on the Town mishaps too !
I did peek into the running thread but you all scared the whatsits out of me ........ but hey I may was well go public on here. I've agreed to run a half marathon in May for a friend's charity she's setting up to encourage people to reach fitness goals -and increase self esteem -knowing you can achieve it with fitness then spurring you on to realise you can make similar strides in other areas of your life. Her event is in Idaho but there is also an option to choose your own event anywhere in the world in May and join her MAD (Make A Difference) Marathon for support. Kind of fits into a lot of the attiudes on here-I'll post the website address if anyone is interested later.
So zero to a half marathon by May -I must be crazy ....but then that's never stopped anyone on this thread beforeI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Duchy, you can do it!! Just start of slowly, build it up, and enjoy it :j
TDQ - the same goes for shred
Mum is with DS in A&E.....they got there around 3pm but just had a text to say he is on his way for X-ray, so getting there but some time yet!
So far today, we have worked tirelessly on the garage - 2 car loads taken to the tip, 10 bags and two big boxes ready to load in Mums car for charity shops that she passes on her way to work.....two garage up and over doors painted, and the side door too. Still some way to go in the garage but a huge difference already.....much of what is left needs XOH to do his own sorting and throwing, but I have almost done Dad's stuff now so I am very pleased with that. Also sorted the skis etc and tidied those up, which is no mean feat considering how many bits and pieces we have between us!
Had to buy a new hoover because mine is in so much shock from all the sorting and tidying recently that I can't even do a room before it cuts out for half an hour - so I have bought a Henry Hoover on the CC and will clear it next month. Needs must. Also had to buy new lights for the kitchen, but again unavoidable.
I still have the ironing to do and some general tidying bits and bobs, so I will start ironing now, and wait to hear from DS.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Henry was the boy who wrecked my toes - but still think it is the best hoover I have ever bought!

Am a busy bee that has now sat down and has no intention of getting up again!
DS is strapped up, with another trip back in 10 days time when the swelling has reduced. He's fine and now out playing football with his mates **insert roll eyes smiley right here, right now**.....!
House looks quite reasonable - the cleaner starts on Thursday and she can now get to all the areas to actually clean rather than to tidy, so that should be good to come home to later in the week. All the ironing is done, and put away, although the washing machine is still doing its thing so more to be dried and put away before the ironing pile re-emerges once more!
So.....all in all, a busy day, but at least we can see the differences!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Dismantle your other hoover as far as you're able and use your Henry to clean its pipes. Hoovers use the airflow to help cool the motor, so if the motor is overheating, there's probably a partially blocked pipe somewhere near the motor."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I always thought the Henry one's looked quite sweet, I didn't realise they were really wolves in sheeps clothing!!!!
Hope it doesn't turn out to be a break. Not a good start to the school year if it's his writing hand. Holding the ski poles must be painful too even if it isn't a break.
Well done on the garage Hypno.
Anyway, moved city/hotel. Hotel is far better, but the smaller town was really nice, so got to get into independant big city exploring mode. Not a holiday, so the idea is to see/do as much as possible at minimal cost, so tourist info tomorrow, already spotted that a museum that normally charges 9 euros supposedly has a free entry day on Wednesdays. Just got to find other things as good0 -
