She also asked me, most bizarrely, if I wanted her to stop him using his left hand to draw with. He uses both hands, usually together, at the moment and she was prepared to 'train' him to use the right only??? My brother is a lefty so if it is genetic I guess Benjamin could be too...who on earth would stop their child doing whatever comes naturally to them?

Is she an older lady? I think in ye olden days you were discouraged from being a lefty because it was seen as wrong.

OH is a lefty, as is L. (But I noticed last Sunday that they both eat right handed?!?)
J's teacher at parents evening said J used his right hand until February when he decided he'd be left handed. He's just as good/bad with either hand.
V seems to favour her right at the moment.

How about finding out where the centre of the UK is and meeting there?

My sister and I have both been trained to use our right hands for writing... Not by our parents but by the infant school we went to...

I'd be up for Birmingham :D

MFD - I certainly wouldn't, I've had my DH at an Educational Psychologist to confirm Dyslexia, who said that he should have been a leftie.

My mum had polio as a toddler which affected her right side, my grandma had to go to school and tell them to stop trying to get her to use it, she can't!

I'm still waiting for Katie to decide which hand, but as I can use both hands to do certain things I'm in no rush.

I'm right handed but eat left handed! Makes laying the table interesting.

    Im right handed to write.
Eat with the fork in my right hand, but have to swap hands to cut things.

I can write with my left hand, but its a bit messy. I tried to train my left hand when i was younger and wanted to be different :p

EA - that's what I do, eating and writing too!

I was at a training course for church the other week, about activities to do with the children one of which was glass painting and I used my left hand to paint the left hand side - it was surprisingly easy
