SS, she only says it when she is being a pest. For example, she will yank your hair and yell 'aaaaaaa!!!! AhmbAAAAA!!!! Hahahahahaha!' Or will bang on the table and yell it. Plus, it sounds just like Arrrrgggghhhh! so its an easy name. She also cackles. Ah ha ha ha ha! style. Crazy baby. But ofcourse, she stops as soon as you hit 'record'.
ETA, what what what? Next voucher did you say???0 -

:rotfl: awesome Amber!
I thought this £10 voucher the Bounty people promised was just a voucher, but it's £10 off £20 and I don't want anything for £10, although I did want things for freeExpires next weekend.
SS, how did you get the voucher? I never got mine!

We get stuck in food ruts here, too!
Here's things we've tried that have gone down well/seemed easy for him to eat: cucumbers (fav), orange segments (fav), tomatoes, plums, peaches, nectarines, toast with marmite, Weetabix (dry), sausage, meatballs, butternut squash (fav), carrots, fried egg, cheese, chicken, broccoli.
He also loves hummus & weezl's bean pate. If he doesn't fancy the rice cake or toast that it's spread on, then he'll just suck it off.
As far as spoon things go, we've only really tried Greek yoghurt and fruit pots that I got ultra cheap using a Boots voucher. I put the stuff on a spoon and then give him the spoon.
Things that haven't been a huge hit are apples and pasta/noodles! Sometimes he'll just not be keen on one of the above and most ends up on the floor rather than in his mouth. Oh and potatoes we've only tried once or twice so not sure how those go.
So far it's been a lot of raw and very little cooked. More complex flavours and actual "dishes" are our next thing, I think.
I tried baking some oaty flapjacky things using a recipe I found on OS, but they were far too crumbly for grabby baby fists, so I need to try again. I'm wondering if mini pasty/turnover things might be good for getting more protein and complex flavors in. Anyway, going to try another flapjacky thing tomorrow as I need stuff to take on the plane other than dried fruit snacks.
ETA: hammy, ahhh I see! Sorry didn't realise, hope you didn't think I was sounding critical?
Beenie, awesome! Sounds like someone was telling you you chose the right path.
Buttons, those pics of Keira are soooo adorable. I used to teach horseback riding to little girls, so getting started at a very young age is definitely the way to go. Go Keira!!
I like the idea of flapjack type things- might have a play with some of those. I'm also planning to make a lentil loaf to cut up for him as he loves red lentils in things.
H likes big pasta shapes (like rigatoni) with pesto on. A RL mummy friend of mine used filo pastry to make wetter foods BLW suitable but I [STRIKE]can cba with that[/STRIKE] figure if we would eat it with cutlery then so can he!Sarah_Joanne wrote: »Does omelette stay firm enough to cut into strips?
£23 a lesson does sound a lot, but I bet Keira loves it!
Alfie is currently playing with a piece of apple and is getting very upset when he drops it
We has great success with omelette this week. Scrambled eggs also went down well, although I spooned the scrambled eggs into his mouth and just gave him toast soldiers as finger foos.redmel1621 wrote: »Thanks SM yeah, i'm ok....bit of a skank today though! I slept on the floor in the nursery last night, in my clothes...the same clothes I had been wearing all day yesterday, and am still wearing now_pale_
T needs feeding about 7 so I will put K to bed and feed T then get a lovely long shower before putting some nice comfy PJ's on:)
I am mildly pleased as I tried some jeans on yesterday (my regular pre-preg ones) and I could fit into them. They did leave me with a bit of a muffin top as they were slightly tight, but not unwearable. Although I won't wear them until they fit properly:p So I jumped on the scales today and am 3lb under my pre-preg weight. I wish I could be more happy about it, but all that is going through my mind is how much I still have to lose:(:o
How are you today? Yum on the milkshake:whistle:
xx
Well done you on being less than your pre-pregnancy weight. That is great, Mel.
Hammy- I think you have done amazingly well to BF this long with one boob! A friend of mine's son had a dairy allergy and she gave up BFing in the end as she found it so hard to cut dairy out of her diet and even the smallest amount seemed to make him sick. He's now one and his allergy seems a lot less severe now, so hopefully D may grow out of it.
Just been for a lovely run in the park- best time of day to go in this weather but not very rock n roll on a Saturday night :rotfl:.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
