lastminute.con!!

I ordered 2 spa days at Marriott Hotels back in February and during a recent move found that I had lost the vouchers. Contacted lastminute on email to ask if they could re-issue them (wouldn't mind paying for the postage or any admin costs) and they said that they would be in contact with the hotel and email me back within 5 working days - nothing! :(

Just called them at 10p a minute.con with a guy that was talking very slowly and kept asking me to wait a moment as he had a slow system (you could say that again!), only to find out that they couldn't re-issue them!! What a waste of £20.99 - certainly won't be wasting my money with them again.

  • Thanks for your replies - I have emailed Marriott and am awaiting a response - really hope I get somewhere as seems a bit unfair that they won't re-issue when I have said that i will cover admin costs.... fingers crossed.

Whilst I appreciate it may be inconvenient, I fail to see the con? You lost the vouchers, not the seller!
    Gone ... or have I?

Yep. You paid them. They issued the vouchers which they always tell you you must keep safe. You lost them.

I fail to see what Lastminute did that is worthy of a scamming accusation. Their 10p a minute customer service line is hardly bank breaking and helps them make a bit more so their activities/holidays/etc are cheaper than most other places - you were happy to take advantage of these prices when other people were paying the 10p/min weren't you?

I feel sorry for the guy on the end of the phone!

Are you related to this idiot Sidetrak He is another numpty like you who thinks company is at fault and doesn't own up to the fact its THEIR fault. Be adult enough to admit it rather than look like a idiot and blame the company

no one said it wasnt frustrating but a real voucher (i.e. not an online voucher) is a physical item, treat it like cash.
if i lose cash in my house, can i get the bank to re-issue it?

We can all see why you are frustrated...BUT this is not THEIR fault at all, YOU lost the vouchers. Would you have the same rant at Tesco if you lost your shopping on the way home and they wouldnt re-issue you with it???
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Frustration - yes I can totally understand that. Your frustration is no reason to accuse them of being con artists though...

If you want people to tell you only what you want to hear I suggest an internet forum is not the place to ask!

Of course you won't, instead you'll LOSE your money with a different company. You're stretching the truth using the word waste.
