Ive just had a problem with the computer. I was browsing in firefox then it would keep on closing so each time i restarted it so i checked the event logs then found the problem was logmein so i disabled the firefox add on and it didnt help.
Then the machine decided not to get into windows but would get as far as the safe working mode so i clicked safe mode and it keeps on going in a circle eg chose safe mode then restarts then asks if i want to start safe mode etc again and again. MSE had found a trojan and told me about it so i said to remove it and thats what caused what ive described.
Whats my next step ? if i can get into windows ill run hijack and malware
now it said a file was missing and to put the disc in and to press r

Sounds as though the trojan has corrupted a critical system file.
I would do a Repair Install and then run the standard malware checks to see if any remnants have been left behind.0 -

I get to the recovery console and it asks me to chose which drive to access so i press 1 but nothing happens, am i meant to press another button0

This almost certainly depends on which version of Windows you have, but I don't use the recovery console to do a Repair Install.
I choose Install and then wait for it to find the existing installation, then get it to repair it.0 -
