I find Neutradol products very good. When we moved into our new house the downstairs loo stank of wee, removing the curtain and repeatedly washing the wooden floor did not help, I think it has sunk into the wood. I have put a Neutradol gel type air freshener in there and it has banished the smell completely. I think they do a powder carpet deodoriser which may be worth trying.

If all else fails, how did you clean the carpets? A professional steam clean will be more thorough than DIY and may not be that expensive if you want to save the carpet.
