Travel Expenses and Tax Credits

Hello,
Last year i was forced to work away from home about 500 miles in distance. I was given travel expenses from my company but was taxed on them meaning they inflated my taxable earning for the year. I have reported my total taxable earning to the HMRC and they have adjusted by award by taking £120 per month off me. This year i'm back to working near my home and will not be earning the same as last year but my monthly wage flucuates so i can't be sure of the bottom line figure as yet.
My question is if i highlight the travel expense on all my payslips as proof will i have any chance of getting the total deduced from my final salery for the purposes of the award. In my mind I didn't ask to work from home I was made to and I can't afford to lose £120 per month at the moment.
Any thoughts advise would be helpful
Thank You

In short, no. You would only be able to reduce it by the mileage rates set by HMRC but only if your employer had not already done that. You'd know if they had if the "Gross Pay" and "Taxable Pay" amounts were different to the equivalent of the HMRC mileage allowance.0
