Hi sorry if i am in the wrong section,
just a little advice please
I changed my provider for line rental to sky from BT about 2 month ago, i have always been ex directory, despite me making it clear to sky i requested and made it clear that i was to be kept ex directory from the date they took over, 3 DAYS AFTER THEY TOOK OVER MY LINE RENTAL i got telemarketing calls etc (which i never had a problem with before), When i looked on the internet i washorrified to see my name number etc was on 118 etc, i rang sky and they apologised and said they would have it removed... 3 weeks later i rang them again as it was still on there and she assured me it takes approx 14 days before it gets removed," i said i would give them till end of June , i have checked again today and it is still on there, Weredo i stand regarding this waste of time ringing sky i have been lied to twice now and been told it would be taken off, i rang 118 they said they cant do it till they recieve a fax from the provider asking them to take it off any advice please
thanks

I've had the same problem switching from BT to Sky, was ex-dir, now getting loads of sales calls.
have just registered with TPS, never rang Sky, takes up to 28 days apparantly to sort it all out, but the calls have been less over the last few days and I only signed up a week ago0 -
I am ex have been for years just checked I am not on 118
If you get sale calls my advice is get a device called truecall it might costs £90 but it gets rid of 90+% cold callers0 -
I would write to 118, give them 21 days to respond before referring the matter to the information commissioner's office. It is your data which they are processing wrongly AFAICS, and the only reason they should take notice of sky is that they are your agent - not that the data belongs to sky.i rang 118 they said they cant do it till they recieve a fax from the provider asking them to take it off any advice please

 £90 to get rid of cold callers, I registered with TPS and it cost zilch and I certainly haven't had any cold callers.I am ex have been for years just checked I am not on 118

But that doesn't stop all callers as I been member of TPS for many years, nor when you tell companies to stop do they often stop beleive me I been there, I complained and took complaints higher up and calls still came
Truecall stopped all my cold callers instantly might be £90 but it works in end its your choice but TPS doesn't given 100% guarantee
Also stops many of these scams too from boiler rooms who sell you fake shares
I haven't had a single cold call since March it also doubles up as a answer machine and can record calls if you get the SD card they provide:eek: £90 to get rid of cold callers, I registered with TPS and it cost zilch and I certainly haven't had any cold callers.0
