I need to get a particular book dor my daughter who is about to enter the big wide world as a Primary School Teaching student. I considered this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-TEACHING-OF-SCIENCE-IN-PRIMARY-SCHOOLS-HARLEN_W0QQitemZ330022514568QQihZ014QQcategoryZ121623QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
book but when I looked at his postage terms I had second thoughts. Surely his terms, as written, are worthless?

The seller is another TSFE..ticks the I accept paypal box, yet refuses credit cards and doesn't believe she is responsible for items lost in the post.
She can be reported for the breach on not accepting credit cards, but other than that I'm sorry but I wouldn't touch this auction witha barge pole.

Pity really as text books always cost a great deal when your'e a student( yes, I expect we'll buy them at least to start with) and don't really come down much. Oh well back to Amazon I suppose.

I take no notice of terms of postage like that as if you pay by paypal, even with a debit card then their terms take precedence, and if the item doesnt arrive you can do a charge back, and it will be up to the seller to sort it out with the post office, and paypal will give you your money back.

The problem with that elmer is that if the seller keeps no balance in their paypal account the buyer gets nothing back from a chargeback.
I always think that a seller who uses such aggressive terms, and misunderstands ebay is likely to fight a chargeback every step of the way and try their hardest to deny the buyer their money back.
I wouldn't risk it.

EDIT: It is also worth remembering that a debit card will trigger the upgrade requirement for the seller, which means she is likely to refuse payment and insist on a paypal balance only, which just gets messy and delays the whole thing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Can't understand the last bidder, with postage its dearer than Amazon. Must be a newbie to E-bay. Pity we can't "advise" her.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
