Cannot sell because of house next door

I have my house for sale and 2 viewers have said they would buy if it was not for state of house next door. Jungle for a garden, paint flaking off windows and doors, windows not cleaned in last year. Do I have any legal rights to make them at least tidy gardens up? TIA

I would be tempted to offer to tidy it up for them, if it will get you a sale. Do you think they would accept an offer of you to do it for them? What is their situation is it an older person who struggles to keep up with the maintenance? or just plain laziness?

Have a chat to the neighbour about it.

Whilst strimming a garden isn't a huge job - and would perhaps make a big difference - windows etc will still look shabby without a lot of time or money.

Or private tenants? I know you have issues with social housing and anyone on benefits but even people with jobs can struggle.

Many private landlords are almost chronically averse to performing any maintenance at all, and the windows are the Landlord's responsibilty as if they are THAT bad then they are probably not working well.

Certainly if you're stuck living in a damp hell hole that money grabbing LL refuses to repair even when threatened with Environmental health it doesn't make you want to rush out and do the gardening.
