Unlock-now.com HTC Hero Unlock Code issue

Hey

Today, I ordered a code to unlock my phone so that I could use it on O2 rather than Orange. They sent it to me within minutes of ordering, however it didn't work. I told them, and they helped me through common issues (double checking the IMEI was correct, that I had the right build number for it to work), but it still didn't work. I asked them for a refund, and they refused as there was no proof that the code hadn't been used. I quoted their terms and conditions concerning refunds and they refused again, implying I was a liar, asking for proof that the code didn't work. All this, even though I had just had a huge conversation going through every issue they could think of. I'm just wondering what I can do now, as the company is registered in the US I think, under the name "Noctua Tech". Any help would be great. I payed through paypal if that's any help. Cheers :)

Cheers for the reply, Limit. So, I would just message them about the distance selling regulations via their support ticket system? Cos I have one I can reopen due to my long conversation with them.

It's only £14.86, but it's more of a principle thing. I would take back a dvd to asda if it only cost £3, but didn't work.

    Yes I would.

As for your unlocking issues, the Hero has an issue in the rom (CUPCAKE builds or above) where you can't unlock a stock rom, According to XDA developers you need to go to a cooked rom or buy a code with the fix from HTC Code (htccode.com) and thatll unlock it.

The issue with the code was fixed with the february update, but the code just doesn't work. I had a very nice chat with someone from orange and they gave me a different code which worked a treat (and they didn't charge me either after I explained my situation).

It seems upto the network to employ the update into the roms, I know Orange have not yet nor has o2 but Network3 has
Sorry, that's what I'm saying. The update from Orange in feb fixed the code unlocking issue. The guy I spoke to at Orange was telling me about it.
