Apex Discovery Solutions - Please Help!

Hey everyone...

Im hoping someone can give me advice on what this is - or what these people might want!?!....

Basically in the past I have been in a lot of debt - mainly from when I was at uni. However over the past few years I have paid this all off to the best of my knowledge... I have worked really hard to do this as well.

Today I visited my old house as there was supposed to be some post for me. I opened one of the letters and it was a card from "Apex Discovery Solutions" saying:

"Dear....
I would be grateful if you would contact ...... ....... on 08445560259.
Quote ref ........."

.....and thats it!

Any clues as to what this could be about - could it possibly be them searching for someone else that used to live at my old address. I literally cannot think of what this could be about - I have raked my brains.

Im slightly worried that it could be Barclays, as I used to have a student account with them that was over its overdraft limit etc - they passed it onto Wescott and I paid it all off over a year ago now - i have the letters to prove it - however I never closed the account as I assumed this would have been done wehn the debt was passed onto Wescott....

any advice?

Sounds legit in that case. When was the last time you checked your credit files? They should say if you've got any outstanding credit items.

Like I said - yes the letter was addressed to me personally. I have done some digging about and I have found out that this "Apex Discovery Solutions" is a branch of Apex Credit Management and "provides dedicated tracing solutions to the financial services sector" so I'm guessing it could be Barclays. I have tried to contact Barclays but as I dont have any of the old account details they can't tell me anything. I really thought this was resolved when I finsihed paying the debt to Wescott - but it doesnt look like it has...

Sorry -I didn't ask twice -the site seems to have doubled my post! I've had a look around as well, and they seem to be also liked to Buchanan Clark and Wells, who are no strangers to this forum:

Oh God - im just so confused as the debt with Barclays was all finished. My old housemate did mention that a lot of other mail had come from another girl who lived with us a while ago - she was in a lot of financial difficulty - ignoring debts etc. Ive considered that maybe they are looking for her and therefore contacting me (as I had my name on the CT register) - would this be possible? or are they not allowed to do that?

Debts should be held by individuals, so unless you had a joint financial (credit) product with that girl, they shouldn't be chasing her via you. That doesn't mean that they wouldn't try though -they can be unscrupulous.

Yeah, thanks mike I appriciate you responding to me - I was hoping that they might be chasing her through me but its a vague hope. Ive worked really hard to get rid of all this stuff and finally be rid of this type of issue and yet all this seems to be pointless if I have some debt hanging over me from years ago - that i really didnt incur as well as I have cleared up all my debts and havent got into any more since. I know you shouldnt enter into phone conversations with these peope but by the looks of it I have no other option as this is literally just a card with he above text on it - so im going to have to call if I want to know what it is about!

    I could cry :(
