There isn't a screen across the lcd panel, it's a sealed unit (as are most screens) - I saw this on a laptop I was fixing on Friday, no way to remove it I'm afraid without permanently damaging the panel.

If you do want to take the screen assembly apart, take off the plastic/rubbery bits, remove the screws underneath and gently lever the screen bezel on the inside, working from top downwards

Is the unit still under warranty?

  • My goodness, I thought having a few dead pixels was bad enough but a fly behind the screen?!!!

Maybe you could try capturing a money spider and guide it into your laptop from the air vent in the hope that it will find it's way to the fly and eat it.
