Sorry to hijack, just have some questions and am hoping someone can explain for me.
What is the VIP thing and how do you get it? what does it entitle/give you that us general shoppers cannot get? if you have had to pay for it, is it worth it? is it only online?
Just curious- I rarey get to shop in Next as its actually more crammed then Primark Oxford Street on a saturday and this scared me! By the time its calmed down theres nothing left in my size or if there is its stuff that does not look good on me. They are good for PJs and socks- thats all that seems to be left!
The VIP thing gives you a time slot to buy sale items online only, a few days before the general public. Next randomly select people to get a VIP slot. and no it is not something that you pay extra for.
The summer sale is normally really good but I'm wondering if it will be as good this year as they seem to of sold out of so much of their nice stock?
I don't think I would be brave enough to go to the Oxfors street store when the sale starts, as you said it is busy enough normally but will go crazy when the sale starts!0 -
While the Next sale can be good, it's the constant ranting that is to come from fellow MSE members that is so irritating.
'I didn't get a VIP slot, I never get one, it's not fair. Could someone kindly post the customer services number.''
'I didn't get a VIP slot, I always get one, it's not fair. I'll just phone customer services.'
Then there's the, 'I've just bought half the shop' members. Surely by now we all know our next measurements? Most of us certainly have some time in which we can pop into one of their stores and try things on, beforehand. Buying two/three different sizes prevents others from getting an item they may want.
I'm certainly no saint, I just dislike how certain sales bring out the worst in people. This being number 1.
Finally, what is the number to customer services?catch220 -
On the whole it tends to be the tack they haven't been able to get rid of at a full price. There is a next outlet centre near me and it is like visiting a jumble sale.
The furnitures not bad if you can get it cheap, the clothes they sell on offer are total trash. Think of it as a downmarket TK Maxx, but not so well organised
Couldn't agree more Next nearly always gets bad press when holding a sale. I think they must work on the premise all press is good press because year after year they do nothing about it. Stampede!!
I'd rather have a beer.....:beer:0 -
After much thought i have decided to give the NEXT sale a miss this time.
I popped into my local store the other day and there was nothing in the store that I needed.
If i got up and went i know i would get sucked into buying stuff i dont want or need but buy it just in case cos if i change my mind it wont be there later, with every intention of returning it, but i never do. Not very money saving is it.
Plus as previous posters have said, there doesnt seem to be much stock available, so im saving myself the stress.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Sorry but im a bit confused. I have a next account but am not banking on a VIP slot as i have only just opened it and not made an order yet. Is it still possible to shop online for the sale and if so does it start the same time/date as in store. Thank you0

Yes, you can still shop online on the day the sale starts, i beleive its normally from 8 or 9am, but it is hectic and there's generally not too much left.
If you have just opened your account go into your account and then into contact details and make sure you have the box ticked to receive info on special offers and sale info, othewise you definately wont get a vip invite.:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)
