Has anyone else noticed that most things in sizes 12-18 are out of stock.

Have been looking for a summery dress but nearly everything I look at is sold out, started looking at other bits and finding it impossible to find anything in stock in a 14 or 16.

Could this be becaue sale is coming and stock is being held back or maybe that Next just didn't keep their usual stock levels.

Looking like it might be a rubbish sale if everything is already sold out.

This always happens just before the sale starts.

Core sizes like this have been out of stock on loads of things for ages, I complained that they seem to have really low stock levels this year and they advised that due to the credit crunch they did not buy as much stock this year, hence so much stuff selling out so quickly. So I don't think it has much to do with the sale coming up.

Similarly I was finding lots of items in the boys clothes section that were out of stock in all ages over about a year. I was wondering if the sale would be worth bothering with if stock is so low.

Sorry to hijack, just have some questions and am hoping someone can explain for me.

What is the VIP thing and how do you get it? what does it entitle/give you that us general shoppers cannot get? if you have had to pay for it, is it worth it? is it only online?

Just curious- I rarey get to shop in Next as its actually more crammed then Primark Oxford Street on a saturday and this scared me! By the time its calmed down theres nothing left in my size or if there is its stuff that does not look good on me. They are good for PJs and socks- thats all that seems to be left!

Just seen this on the BBC News
Next & other retailers break refund rules for online deliveries
A BBC investigation has found that Next has been breaking consumer law.
It has been failing to refund delivery charges applied to goods bought online, but then returned.
Under the Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs), a customer returning goods within seven days is entitled to a full refund and the initial delivery charge.

The law does not cover the cost of returning the unwanted items.
But Next has been breaching the regulations by billing customers for delivery costs - even if goods are returned within seven days.
A customer doesn't have to return goods within 7 days, just has to notify they are canceling within that period!

When the BBC questioned Next, it said it would change its policy from the start of August.

Hmmmmm that's interesting - this must surely apply to other companies - I bought stuff from Boden - paying p&p returned some of the items - paying p&p AGAIN but no mention of returning original postage - hmm must investigate - THANKS
