Advice needed about undercounter integrated fridge and freezer heights.

Hi All

We are having an Omega kitchen fitted which includes an integrated under counter fridge and a separate integrated under counter freezer.

When I started looking for built in appliances I found there are two different heights of fridges and freezers that fit under counters (82cm and 87cm) so I emailed Omega and asked about the appliance housing.

Their reply said: Built under fridges and freezers do not require a housing, you simply attach a door fascia to the front. So long as you look for under counter integrated appliances you will find that these are a standard height.

As I don't know the size of the fascia is it safe to buy the 87cm high fridge and freezer or should I go for the smaller ones? I'm worried that the 87cm high freezers and fridges just freestanding fridges that will stick out further than the kitchen units and that websites use the term "built in" when they mean "built under".

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about the heigh 87 or 82 because I always thought they were all a standard height but what I do know is they wont stick out from under the worktop because they're designed to sit under it with a door on the front to fit flush with the front of the units.

Some appliances do actually sit in a cupboard but some don't, you just slide them into a gap (usually 600 wide), stick the correct door on it and it looks just like all the other kitchen units.

It might be best to contact your kitchen supplier, did that with mine and they recommended a size and a model just had to search around for the best deal.
