Bank account for Euro Income

Hi,

I have got some Euro bonus from a company I worked last year. They will pay me by Euro and ask for my bank detail. However, I do not want the bank transfer it to pound since I would like to have a holiday in France at the end of this year. Can anyone suggest any bank account that can accept Euro and do not thansfer to pound?

Thanks a lot.

  • Not my area... but if it isn't going to be used as a current but more a short term deposit account I remember looking at ING Direct once who had an account like this.

I'm fairly sure that non-sterling personal accounts can be very expensive to run. Also, I understand that exchange-rate gains are subject to Capital Gains Tax.

Do you really want all the hassle ?

Not an expert but many of our clients (Brits with property in France / expats) have bank accounts with Credit Agricole Britline as they have English speaking staff and Britline was created specifically to service the needs of Brits in France (hence the name).

    Their website is http://www.britline.com

    Hope this is useful.
